Today, when I opened PSE 13 everything opened fine. When I tried to alter the size of a brush or change brushes, I got the "PSE has stopped working" message. Other tools work fine. It just seems to be when I want to changes sizes either using the "+" or "-" keys or the slider. I've uninstalled and reinstalled twice, but the problems still exists. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks for your help.

Debbie,
I am assuming you are talking about using one of the built-in brushes in Elements. If you have not installed any third-party brushes prior to this happening, let's try resetting the Brush tool. Go to the right end of the Tool Options bar and click on "Reset Tool".
If resetting the Brush tool doesn't solve the problem, let's try deleting the Preferences file. According to the Help file, . . .
Go to Edit>Preferences>General (Adobe Photoshop Elements Editor>Preferences> . . . on a Mac). Click on the "Reset Preferences on next launch" button. Ignore the "This cannot be undone." warning and click OK. Close Elements and then start it again.

And by the way, the + and - signs do not affect brush size. Try the [ and ] keys.

Thanks, Major, I knew that, just got flumoxxed! I'd tried most of your other suggestions, but no luck. So I uninstalled and reinstalled for the third time and then applied the updates. This for whatever reason seemed to work. I guess the "Third time's a Charm" really is true. Anyway, I'm up and brushing away again.
Thanks!
