I know absolutely nothing about LightRoom; however, it is my understanding that the newer versions require a monthly subscription fee.
Which is the last "buy it once and it's yours forever" version ?
Which is the earliest version that has batch processing of "Properties>Details"?
Thanks for reading.

BuckSkin, LR6 is the latest stand alone version you can buy. Go to the Adobe page here, and scroll down to the bottom, where on the right hand side you should see a Lightroom 6 box. Click on that and it should take you the purchase page.

Which is the last "buy it once and it's yours forever" version ? As of this writing, Adobe seems to have no plans to stop offering Lightroom x.x (perpetual license, not part of Creative Cloud). Just last December Adobe released updates to both -- Lightroom 6.8 along with Lightroom CC 2015.8. The difference is that some new features will be added only to Lightroom CC.

I contacted Adobe direct about this and the reply was at present no plans to stop the standalone version, and that reports of it's demise were unfounded.

I wouldn't be surprised to see version 7 released within the next 3 months.

If you are referring to the discussion in the Photoshop Lightroom thread, this is what Jim Hess, Adobe Community Professional and MVP, has to say . . .
