This makes me smile. I can also relate to how photography has changed my tendency to shop for a remembrance to bring home from places that we have visited. Before photography I would scour the little shops for some treasure. Now I am more interested in how the outside of a shop might work for a picture.

The funny thing is I myself don’t particularly like shopping lol…
I’m not a great traveller either. I love your photo and it’s great that from the comfort of my armchair I can see all round the world courtesy of all you wonderful photographers who willingly share your photos.

Snap on both counts, BillieJean. Looking at the photographs, I am in envy of a lot of members who live in those beautiful areas.
What do you mean by 'kits used'?

I mean kits used for digital scrapbooking. These kits contain Papers and embellishments in .jpg and .png form. The embellishments in this page for example are the blue lupins, the cobbled path and the ladies. The background to the page is a watercolour paper from one of the kits blended together with the sketch of the building from pixabay. To see what I mean Sepiana has kindly provided links to several sites where you can see/obtain the kits. About scrapbook kits: Here's an example of the preview sheet of a scrapbook kit. Each element in this kit is separate - can be resized, recolored, rotated. The embellishments are in png format so they have transparency around them and can be layered without a white block around them. The background papers are in jpg format because you use them as backgrounds or clip them to shapes and they don't need to have transparency around them.
You take the items from the kit and use them on scrapbook layouts. In this layout, I took background papers from the kit and made those circles to surround the photo and I made circles as an embellishment for the page. You can see the same background paper as the frame of the layout.

I believe I said some time ago, though - I love the things you do. Thank you for the link.

I think there are two ways people use PSE - one is the way photographers use it - and this forum is mostly geared towards those people. These people fix their photos until they are perfect - are interested in working with RAW, etc.
Others use PSE for creation. They make collages or they make digital scrapbook layouts. These people are interested in fixing photos just so they are usable on their page - aren't all that fussy about perfecting a photo - just getting it good enough so it works on a page. These people seek out digital kits so they have 'stuff' to add to their pages - to make them unique. They use the kits for layouts and greeting cards.
If you are interested in seeing more about creating layouts, google "digital scrapbooking" and take a look at some of the art they create. Just Art is my favorite stop, but there are many, many sites.
