Wow, everyone's collages are so cool. I am going to try to put one together this week and start learning the art from the masters here

The projects everyone is sharing shows how easy it is to make beautiful collages with just the supplies we have on hand -- PSE and our photographs. I love seeing everyone's photos grouped on one page. Using a photo as a background works well, doesn't it.
Your collages so wonderfully tell a story.

I did this for a Challenge at Just Art called "Chasing the Sun" - here's how one can use a not muted photo as the background.

Look at the colour of that water...so inviting and just beautiful. Lovely display Janice. Good luck with the challenge.

Thanks. I'm always amazed at the water in the Caribbean. It can go from really light blue to dark in the same area. And I don't think it's an optical illusion.

What a terrific layout, Janice! Your image makes a great background with the beach at the top and the water serving as backdrop for your other pictures. Good luck in the challenge!

For those unfamiliar with challenges on most digital scrapbooking forums -
The word 'challenge' merely means one is given an idea (sometimes really simple, but it can be more detailed) One creates a page with the parameters in mind. There isn't really a submission - just a sharing of what you've created within the parameters. You upload your layout to their gallery. Like here, people then comment on your work.
I like the Just Art site because:
-you are not expected to use specific kits. Some sites restrict you to the stuff they sell in their shop. Just Art doesn't have a shop. Plus those type of sites expect you to detail where you got each and every thing you put on your layout, which can be difficult if you grab from here and there
-the challenges are open forever. So if you see a challenge (idea for a layout) from a year ago, you can still post your work in the current gallery.

Photos from morguefile I used the heart from the custom shapes and clipped the photos to it. I used a gradient adjustment layer for the BG. Leaf embellie from Summer Kisses by Julie C from Digitalscrapbookingstudio

I totally agree. Such a great design idea - leaves to anchor the heart shaped photos - and the gradient goes so well with the photos. That's a beautiful font - what's it called?
Thanks for the details of how you designed your page.

Thanks. Unfortunately I've had to edit the page to change the font as the first one I used (having checked the TOU) does not allow me to use it in public media.
I will pm you about the font I used originally...sorry about that.

That is an elegant substitution and fits well on your page.

Helen That must have been a lovely cruise if your photographs are anything to go by. Nicely arranged on the page too and again using a photograph for the background works well.
