So many of us have multiple photos of an occasion and other than printing each photo by itself, what do we do with them? Try grabbing your favorite photos from the occasion and creating a collage. This is the basis for digital scrapbooking, but a collage/layout does not need to be busy to be attractive. You don't need digital scrapbooking kits to make a collage. Everything you need is already available in PSE. Here's an example of plain and not so plain. In the more detailed one, a scrapbook kit was used, but realize that in the plain one, the background can be any color and you can dress that background up by using brushes. There are banner shapes in PSE to put your text on. Photos can be matted (as I have done with a simple square of color) or they can be outlined with a thick outline. What about those photos from that birthday party? Open a 8.5 x 11 and put multiple photos on it. There are readily available frames for 8.5x11 - you can print your collage at home on photo paper and put it into a frame. It makes a great gift for the birthday boy or girl. Give it a try.

I really like your examples, Janice. I think grouping the plants as you have done makes for a much more interesting image than viewing the pictures individually. We are presently in Florida, I will try to find some interesting pictures to include in a collage while out and about and post back in a few days.

Nice display Janice. I like the background paper you have used on the second page I think it adds somehow to the presentation of your photos.

Thanks BillieJean - I liked that paper with the busy photos - usually, I go plain, but it's more embossed than printed, so I like it.

That is so pretty. The way you have displayed your photos work so well together. I especially like that less opaque photo to anchor your other ones.
I find I "think" scrapping when I'm out and about. Everything makes me think about what would look good on a page. I'm glad phones now have such good cameras so we never need miss a shot.

Thanks, Janice. I am more motivated to walk if I can be doing something else at the same time....I usually read using my ipad while on the treadmill at home, so this worked well for me. Glad you liked it.

Another winner. I really like gradients as backgrounds for photos.
I noticed you did my favorite thing on the edges of your photos. The glow seems to soften the edges so the photo looks more finished.
I thought I had just recently discovered the glow layer style, but I found old layouts where I used it. I almost always add a glow even when I add a shadow.

Helen I love your surfing photos. Great panorama one. Nice layout too.
Whippet two nice pages and I like how you have used photos as a background to the pages. Love your doggy friend.

This is a page of some of the doggy friends we’ve had over the years. Unfortunately all now gone except for little Lola (bottom right). She is a French Bulldog and is just about a year and a half old now. She always looks sad but she has a really bright nature and loves fun. She also needs a lot of exercise which is provided mostly by my husband – keeps him fit – I think!
