Hi I'm with a friend just now, helping with some Photoshop stuff, and can't remember how to move the selected area while the 'marching ants' are still present. Could someone help, please? I'm sure it says how to do this in 'How to Cheat...', but I don't have this book with me tonight. Many thanks All help much appreciated, as usual Julie

As your drag out your selection hold down the spacebar and you can move the selection around. Or having drawn out a selection before clicking on the move tool click inside the selection and drag it around to where you want it. This works for me in PSE - hope it works for you...

Thanks very much, BillieJean You've hit the nail right on the head here. I thought I'd tried everything but obviously not!!! So, yes, this works brilliantly Thanks Sepiana Your link is very useful even though not quite answering my question. However, I think that we will now work through the tutorial you have linked as it is very appropriate just now My friend is very impressed with the quick response. I'm trying to get him to register!!! Thanks again Julie

Thanks, Sepiana Yes, I've saved the link. I think we'll be looking at that tutorial next time, as didn't get enough time this evening. With the help here, we were able to achieve what we had hoped to this evening, ie my friend wanted to use a particular photo to decorate a menu for March, using March Hares. It's great when this forum helps me out when I get stuck while trying to help another
