Hi. I need to place 3 images onto one image (one image on top and two images side-by-side below it). I tried to follow some you tube instructions but just cant get it to work. Is there anyone that might lend a hand in explaining the process. It would be appreciated. Thank You - Peter
I ?think? I understand what you wish to accomplish; a single image file consisting of three separate images; if so, then here is how I go about it.
1. Choose your top image, which according to your description will be the widest image.
2. In Elements Editor, choose "Image > Resize > Canvas Size"
3. Do the math according to your top image dimensions plus however much territory is required beneath for the bottom two images and enter the necessary size in the height space; the width should remain the same.
4. In the dialogue box is a rectangle with eight arrows protruding from it, click on the upward pointing arrow; this "anchors" the top edge and forces the extended canvas onto the bottom of the image.
5. Click "Okay" ; this should result in your top image now having enough open territory to accept the two bottom images.
6. Size the remaining two images to have the correct dimensions to fill the new canvas space and also set them to the same ppi as the first image.
7. With all three images active in the editor, select "Window > Images > Tile"
8. Click on one of the bottom image tiles, which will cause it's layer to show in the layer palette.
9. With the "hand" tool, mouse onto the layer, click/hold the layer and drag and drop it onto the tile containing the top image that has the extended canvas.
10. Click on the remaining bottom image tile and likewise drag/drop it's layer onto the top image tile.
11. Click "Window > Images > Maximize" and the extended canvas top image should be showing, with the two layers consisting of the two bottom images stacked on top of it.
12. Make the top image layer invisible.
13. Click on the center image layer to select it.
14. Select the "move" tool; deselect "auto-select layer"; and position the image layer where desired.
15. Make the top layer visible again; click on it to select it.
16. Using the "move" tool, position this layer onto the remaining empty space on the canvas.
17. Once the three images are positioned as you wish, select the "hand" tool so that no more damage can be done.
If this is what you were wishing to accomplish, then I am happy to help; if not, then maybe it will help someone else.
