I've encountered two instances where my PSE15 wants to connect to the internet. In editor it is when I try to access a background. In organizer it is when I try to create a new Places tag. I can't find a way to tell it there is a connection, just use it. The PSE15 Help manual is silent on this. My product is registered with Adobe. I never had this issue come up with previous versions. Am I missing a setting or should I just do a reinstall and hope?

Hi chetb,
I have to confess I don't really know what the problem is.
If this is any help . . . there have been similar reports on the Adobe Photoshop Elements forum. The first thing they suggest is to rule out a faulty Internet connection. Are you on Windows? If so, go to Control Panel>Network and Internet>View network status and tasks>View your basic network information and set up connections. If there is a problem, you should see a red "X" indicating where the problem is. Ex.: Between the computer and the modem or somewhere else.
Once you have ruled out that your Internet connection is not the culprit, you could try these suggestions posted on the Adobe forum.
- Sign out of Elements and then sign in (Help menu on top bar).
- Uninstall/reinstall Elements.
If the above suggestions don't fix the problem (and someone else doesn't come up with a solution), I would strongly suggest you contact AdobeCare. They can access your computer remotely to see what is going on. As a matter of fact, someone reported on the Adobe forum that he had done this and, when an Adobe employee accessed his computer, he discovered that the culprit was a file within Elements. The file was repaired/replaced and the problem disappeared.
