Hi:
I've just started using PSE15, and I'm really enjoying it. I'm editing a bunch of choir photos, using 5 (or so) Quick Adjustments. I am repetitively using the identical Quick Adjustments on each photo, and it seems to be taking quite a while to get through all of the photos.
Is there some kind of automated preset that I can create (I'm thinking of an old-fashioned macro maybe?) that will capture and save all of these Quick Adjustments? Ideally, I'd like to open a photo, click a custom created preset button and apply the 5 quick adjustments simultaneously, instead of having to select each adjustment individually.
Thanks in advance.

Hi bigpauly and welcome to the forum. It sounds like what you need to do is to set up an action, but I don't think it can be done from the Quick workspace as it appears grayed out on my version of PSE15. You would be able to create one in the Expert workspace. Are you at all familiar with actions?

1. You cannot create actions in Elements. Only the big brother, Photoshop, can create actions.
2. Elements can use actions created in Photoshop provided they have been written specifically for Elements, i.e., if they use commands that this program "understands”.
3. If you run an action in Elements which this program doesn't "understand", you will get an error message. Can you ignore it and click on the "Continue" button? Definitely! But the final results may not be what you had in mind.

Hi bigpauly, welcome to PSE&M!
Elements is able to batch-process photos. This feature -- Process Multiple Files (File>Process Multiple Files) -- will allow you to apply some of Quick Fix's Auto commands such as Auto Levels, Auto Contrast, Auto Color, and Sharpen to multiple files at once. In addition, you can also use the Process Multiple Files feature to . . .
- Rename your files. - Change the file type. - Do image resizing. - Add watermarks. - Add captions.
Here is some information about this process.
Process multiple files (Help file) Process Multiple Files with Photoshop Elements 12 (This will apply to Elements 15 as well).
Hope this helps! Please, let us know if you have any further questions.

Ideally, I'd like to open a photo, click a custom created preset button and apply the 5 quick adjustments simultaneously, instead of having to select each adjustment individually. Thanks in advance. My favourite workflow in your case is to work in the ACR dialog: photoshopelementsandmore.com/thread/3154/elements-acr-workflow-non-filesThat makes applying the same edits (I prefer the words 'main edits' rather than 'quick edits) quick and easy. What I do find interesting in your question is the idea of 'presets', which is typical of Lightroom. Imagine you keep a collection of 'typical edits' files in a given folder or in a given album. They are copies of real pictures already edited in ACR. Their edits are saved in an xmp sidecar file (raws) or in the metadata section in the header of jpegs. They have a descriptive name for the effect and / or descriptive tags. That's your own preset collection you can organize as you want, either in subfolders or albums/subAlbums. Now, you have one or several pictures you want to apply the same effects. 1 - you open your 'typical edit' file, and save it in ACR without any change. The organizer stores the edit in a 'last edit' file. 2 - you open all the target files in ACR 3 - you select all (button on the top of the filmstrip on the left) 3 - You select the option 'previous edits' on the title bar just under the three 'basic, detail and calibration' icons on the right panel. Click on the small icon on the right of that bar to get the 'previous' option. The effects are applied to all files. You can simply click 'Done' while the files are all selected, or you can finetune your edits for some files. You can also click on 'Open' to open all the files in the editor.
