Sometimes at EV I preferred to view all the posts from the past 24 hours. Is there an option to do the same here?

I liked how we could subscribe and get updates to what has transpired, instantly, daily or weekly. Is that a possibility?

Bayla and Joe -
Currently there is only the option to be notified daily, although weekly and instant options are "coming soon". To turn the option on, edit your profile, and under notifications, toward the bottom, you'll see "participated". Turn this on to "Daily".
Note this will only notify you of threads you've participated in (hence the name). I may be wrong, but I think the only way to check ALL recent messages is to look for the NEW icon in folders on the main page, or by clicking on Recent Posts at the bottom. If I am wrong hopefully Andy will be along to correct me.

At EV I often subscribe to a thread without actually posting. If you go to Actions & then click on Bookmark is that the same as subscribing to a thread?

According to ProBoards: Bookmarks are similar to the favorites in your internet web browser and provide quick access to interesting message board content for future viewing. The forum bookmarks system allows you to add interesting threads to a bookmarks collection and is always available through the member profile page. The advantage to using online forum bookmarks rather than the favorites / bookmarks feature in your web browser is that forum bookmarks are always available through your online forum account, regardless of which computer or internet connected device you're using. You can also receive notifications on threads that you have bookmarked.

Actually I think it might work....I bookmarked a thread on March 28th and I just got a notification in Bookmarks that someone had posted in the thread. Bayla

Thanks to Tom we now have a "New Posts" link at the top of the site. I don't know what timeframe it uses.

From what I can see the newest posts seem to be at the top, but you can tell which ones are new to you cos the are flagged with a 'New' marker. Can I be a bit pedantic though? I think the letter p should be an upper case one in the word Posts. Bayla

Thanks to Tom we now have a "New Posts" link at the top of the site. I don't know what timeframe it uses. ...and as I use it, I appreciate it more and more. When this button is clicked you will be presented with a list of posts in reverse-chronological order. There is no timeframe; you just stop reading when you choose. However, threads with posts made since your last visit will be flagged with a 'new' icon to the left of the thread subject title. If you click on this icon you will be taken to the first new post made since your most recent visit. This is a very useful feature! If you click the 'new' icon to read the new posts, then click the New Posts navigation button again, you will see that the thread you just read is no longer flagged as new. It used to drive me nuts on EV when I would click New Posts, read one, then click New Posts again and the list would be empty! Here, you can always see posts listed newest to oldest, and any that have been updated will be pointed out to you!
