Hello everyone. I'm sorry I'm a day late posting this. But yesterday as I was looking for a tutorial to post, my computer locked up on me. I had the Zeus Virus, and had to pay $344.00 to Microsoft to get it fixed. It took most of the afternoon to get it taken care of. So I waited until this morning to post.
But anyway I found this tutorial by FocalOnline to make a picture into a Hollywood Glamor Photo. I did this picture of my wife. I think it would have turned out better if the original had more resolution to it. So give it a try, and lets see what you come up with. Have fun.

Thanks Mike, Original is on the left, it was shot with a snoot on a flash . The right is the output from the tutorial with minor adjustment. The blur was 50 and I don't use the eraser tool - I mask.

pixabayWhat I learned from the tutorial is to use a Guassian Blur layer with a Overlay Blending mode. For adding a golden glow to the face. Which is all that I used. Including masking the eyes, mouth and bkgrd.

Took me a while to find the Diffuse Glow filter (I was using Photoshop and it's in the Filter Gallery) - also I was working with a raw 16 bit image and had to convert to 8 bit to be able to use the filter but once I figured that out it was a nice easy effect. Like Frank I used a layer mask rather than the eraser which makes it much easier to correct mistakes (although I can still see a few!). The original image was taken for a local production of The Matchmaker (on which the musical Hello Dolly was based) - hence the hat! The original was taken against a gray backdrop with creases in it. This tutorial very effectively darkened the backdrop and removed the creases. Must remember this method for next time because I remember what a pain it was to remove the creases. Tony

But for other people it might be a scam. A warning:If a message pops up and tells you to call Microsoft to fix a problem, and gives you the phone number, and asks for money to fix the problem, it's a scam to get money from you.

It's definitely a scam.
Mike, is it too late to try to stop payment through your Credit Card?

Frank, after trying half a dozen images and uncounted settings, I have come to appreciate just how very excellent your entry is.

Rita, Lillias,
Thank you both for your kind comments. I think a lot to do with this process, is the way the image is taken. My image started out being taken in the style of George Hurrell. It had harsh lighting and shadows to start.

What a great job everyone has done. They all look really nice. Thanks Moto, Ritage, and Whippet for the information on this scam. Unfortunately after reading that article from Whippet, I think I have been a victim. Live and learn I guess.

Have you got your money back, verber 10? If your payment went to Microsoft, then I should think you would get a refund.
