Every Christmas I change pictures, and put mates faces into famous and silly pics. Good laugh at Christmas Eve along with several drinks. Normally I can figure out how to do this or that. This time I'm stumped. I'm doing a jokey flash Gordon cover, and can't make the letters slant the way I need them to. It's stuck left small to right larger whjereas I wnt the lettering to go the other way (and it would be nice to change the colours in the name too (changing "Gordon" to "Telford" !)

Hi Phil -
And welcome to PSE&M!
It would be really helpful if you could post what you're working with so we could see it. (To do that, just click on the Add image to post via imgbb.com button at the upper right of your message.)

Horizontal Distortion: For large to small use a negative number. For small to large use a positive number. The actual number to use is your choice. 4. If you want the bottom of the text to be perfectly horizontal rotate the text line.

You can make Text small to large by following my above post Large to Small Text. Read step 3. The problems I see are that you need the same font as the poster and Elements Text Warp doesn't have an option for that type of warp. One possibility is to do something like this image.

Thats not at all bad, (very good actually !) but I was after more the like the original. But failing that - no qualms at all about using this idea ! Here is where I came to a full stop !!! You know, warp text. But it only seems to "warp" one way !

Yeah I replace the faces, hence "Ming" will be a mate of mine John (looking daft as usual) Terry Telford will be Flash Telford and the ladies in our company Maureen and Stephanie will be the two females ! Think I might have an answer to the above. Type out the Telford, reverse it, copy it and use the warp in the original way and reverse THAT !

I would like to see what the Telford warp by itself looks like.

There are some options of the text tool and of the transform tool that might help you get your desired result. Here's the menu once you choose 'warp' from the text tool options - use all three sliders to achieve your result - plus, there are other 'styles' you can try instead of "arch" - I just grabbed arch for theh purpose of showing you the menus After you warp, if you want your text to slant differently - click Control/Command T while on the text layer and the Transform function will be activated. Use "skew" - grab one of the corners and pull. You can also "rotate" your word to get the correct slant.
