64-bit Windows 7 Pro
I (and my wife who is the same as me so far as the computer knows) am the administrator and "user" of our machines. Frequently, whenever I attempt to move or delete a file or a folder, even though I am supposed to have every file and folder in the entire system set for read/write/manipulate to a fare-the-well by anyone anywhere on our home network, it will not allow me to do so; it will tell me that I do not have permissions and that I must obtain permission from "myself" to do so. It may allow me to delete the folder above and the one below, but will balk on the next.
I have been into "advanced sharing" so many times to see if there is something changed in there, but it always shows full control to "everyone"
Have any of you experienced this behavior and what did you do to fix it ?
Thanks.

More info :
I went folder by folder, from the top to the bottom of the heirachy, checking permissions and such, and Explorer still refused to allow me to delete the folders, yet it would allow me to delete the entire contents.
So, just to see what would happen, I selected the offending folders in FastStone, clicked the big red X, and FastStone got rid of those folders before Explorer even knew it had happened.
However, the mystery still remains..........

If you really need to delete a file or folder that Windows 7 is dis-allowing think VERY carefully about this solution...

Thanks, guys: I will try a restart the next time I get in this situation; as for the command line, I need to become more acquainted with using it as I am always afraid of typing a wrong letter and causing a big catastrophe.

Thanks, Finally a solution to a problem I was never able to fix. When Windows updated form 8.0 to 8.1 I had a bunch of files that I lost control of. With Win10 it rarely happens.
