I am new to Flickr and have created an account. When I upload from Flickr almost all the time, I get a screen saying they are having difficulties. I also have something that suggests I install a Flickr Updater for Windows and it has a tag that says BETA on it.
Should I be downloading this updater? I'm a bit paranoid now after my webcam (which I didn't even know I had) was hacked and something was spying on me!!!

Pat, I just checked and I get the message they are having upload issues. Just click on the blue box that says 'choose photos and videos'. Then go to where your photo is and highlight and click 'open'. It will show up in flicker. Then hit 'upload' at the top right. Forget the uploader they want you to download. The beta is for something new and they are changing flickr around with a new look. Try to keep it simple.

You can avoid hackers snooping through your webcam by taping a little piece of black paper over the cam hole/lens.

It essentially searches your computer for all your pictures and uploads them for you. They are all marked private so you don't need to worry about them being seen. You can then go through and mark them for family, friends or leave them private. It is a good backup for your photo's. It is a beta version.
