In the last few days I keep getting this on the Forum
It freezes Internet Explorer and I have to close it with Task Manager. This morning it happened 4 times before I was able to post.
Does anybody else have this problem?

I have had a notice come up, saying that this is not a secure site as it is not https. But I have not had any problems at all - freezing, etc. And my pc is weighted down with security. Just had a thought. You are not running XP are you? Have you heard about the worldwide problem with that?

I usually switch browsers depending on which machine I am using (including my iPhone) -- Edge, IE 11, Chrome, or Safari. I have not seen that warning.

Does anybody else have this problem? The warning message shouldn't happen for this site, but it is not uncommon to see when visiting website. It has to do with the security certificate of the site. That said, it shouldn't cause a problem with your browser. If that is happening, I suspect something else is going on with your browser. I'd start by clearing out the browser cache.

Thanks for all your responses.
No, I don't run XP. Its WIN 7.
I clear the browser cash every day before I sign off.
This warning has never appeared anywhere except on this forum, and it is not generated by my Norton Internet Security, it must come from Internet Explorer itself.
I'll do some googling later and if I find anything I'll post back.

Whippet, http is used by most sites. https is used by banking sites and other sites that need above normal security. https is needed when entering sensitive info. http is normal for everyday sites.

According to both Norton Internet Security and Google Transparency Report, PSE&M is a safe site.

Fixing it is more problematic. The offered MS Hotfixes are old and not for the current version of IE. Rather then possibly making it worse, I guess I'll just have to live with it.
Have you tried resetting Internet Explorer to its default settings? To the settings when IE was first installed on your computer? I have fixed many problems with IE by just doing this. The downside is that, if you had customized some of the settings (ex.: security), you will have to go back and adjust them again.

Sepiana, I did that about 10 days ago, when I got several of the popups in a row, just like this morning. Like you, I have used that method to fix the browser a few times before. No joy with this thing though.
However, it has not re-appeared since this morning, so it's more a nuisance than a serious problem.

Have you tried using another browser? To see if this warning pops up? I am on the same wavelength with Andy; it looks like there is something going on with your browser.
Maybe you could post on this Microsoft forum. answers.microsoft.com/en-us/ie/forum/ie11

I don't understand how low popularity of a given browser (in this case Internet Explorer) or its privacy/security features will explain the warnings Rita has been getting. Moreover, why they seem to be limited to this forum. That's the crux of the matter.
It freezes Internet Explorer and I have to close it with Task Manager. This morning it happened 4 times before I was able to post. This warning has never appeared anywhere except on this forum,
No one else has reported this problem. This seems to indicate that there is something going on with her browser. That's why it was suggested she tried another browser to see if this warning pops up.

Thanks everyone for all the trouble you have taken to help and the interesting links. I have tried other browsers in the past and now use Firefox as a secondary browser.
This Warning, according to the MS help site, is generated by IE itself, so does not appear anywhere else.
I do still use IE for 2 reasons. 1. It accepts the Norton bar on which I rely for security and it has never let me down.
2. The Favorites (Bookmark) system, which allows very easy control. To me it is one of the most important features of my entire computer with dozens of folders and hundreds of subfolders containing all my references related to Photoshop and online Shopping and a few other things. I keep it up to date on almost a daily basis and back it up about once a month to an external drive. When IE will be terminated by MS, and one day it will be, I probably would have to go to Excel to equal it. It is that complicated.
Chrome is said to collect and sell every little fact they can glean about its users. That is not something I wish to support.
So, I'll have to put up with it
Thanks again, Rita
