Sage advice "don't run 2 AV programs simultaneously" is now being challenged by Malwarebytes 3I noticed that Malwarebytes v3 Premium claims to run concurrently with other AV programs. Being a long time satisfied user of their free offering I decided to test it. I believe that no one security product is capable of catching EVERY threat My system:* HP Desktop - 8x Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 960 @ 3.20GHz * Memory 12GB * ATA INTEL SSDSA2M160 - Windows 7 * ATA ST31000528AS - 500MB Linux, 500MB Data * eSATA 1 TB - Data * Windows Defender (MSE) Findings thus far:* Installed 3.1.2 Premium trial on 5/16 * no account creation required * no email info required * 14 day free full protection $39.99 per year per PC * reverts to reduced coverage if no license purchased during the trial period * drive scan is really fast <2 sec for first c:\ scan 15 min for 1 TB ata 15 min for 1 TB esata 8 sec for a memory scan MB doesn’t scan NAS * Daily update times: MB 10 seconds WD 41 seconds * Scan of directory containing 4,760 files in 118 folders (52.6 GB) - times reported by app: WD 51 sec MB 6 min 46 sec If trial continues with positive results while running both MSE & MB simultaneously I plan on purchasing a license.

I've been running Malwarebytes for 5 or 6 years, and it has been very good!
