It seemed to be a slightly slimmer week for gallery postings this week, but the quality was as high as ever. So it was still a tough job to make a selection, the results of which are: Honourable Mentions go to: Scania: Traeth Mawr panorama Everything that you could want in a panoramic landscape. Beautifully composed with a multitude of lead-in lines as well as the colours and landscape naturally drawing your eyes from left to right. And the ND filter has softened and smoothed the sea and sky to great effect. c1.staticflickr.com/5/4195/34445763473_83a3e212b7_h.jpg Sepiana: Shades of Blue Simplicity is sometimes everything and what I really admire in other photographers is those that can pick out a beautiful image from amongst the humdrum. And this is a wonderful example of that. Repetitive lines, variety of geometric shapes and great tonal range and textures. preview.ibb.co/g6fPDF/Shades_of_Blue.jpg Tpgettys: Ah, Tokyo, my hometown! Made me laugh out loud when I first saw it, which is always a great reaction to have. I really like how you've blended the images by softening the streetscape to fit with the fantastical image of the lizard. c1.staticflickr.com/5/4224/34345887344_60aa27f998_b.jpg And my Image of the Week is: Sydney: Last Surf of the Day I'm a sucker for a great silhouette, and this is a really great one with the sparkling backdrop and beautifully defined shapes, really evocative and memorable image. i.cubeupload.com/WBsckp.jpg

Thanks for judging, Alex! Congratulations to Tom and Sepiana for having their images chosen. So glad you added your pano to your gallery, Phil. It's a stunner! And congratulations to Sydney for a powerful silhouette that earned the top spot this week.

Congratulations to all. And thanks to Alexr for the explanations for why he chose the pictures. Scania - I could just picture myself walking my dogs along that beach.

Congrats to all of the others mentioned as well this week - your images are tops!
