This has been more of an annoyance than an actual problem, but for the last several weeks I have been getting a warning each time that I open Elements 12. I always click the red X (the one in the upper-right corner, not the one in the circle), the notice goes away, and Elements 12 opens and performs as it should. So long as I can just "X" it away and everything still work, I am not going to obsess about it; I just thought I would put this here in case anyone else starts having the same problem. It states that the program cannot start because of a missing file; but, by simply ignoring the notice, it can and will start and run, so no need to panic.

It looks like it has something to do with an ON1 product. You might try reinstalling whichever of those you have. But you're fine proceeding as you're already doing.

I haven’t encountered this particular problem but doing a Google search found this – hope it helps… forums.adobe.com/thread/2114991 EDIT sorry Major Major must have been typing at the same time.

I am afraid this is not an Elements 12 issue. The missing file warning -- ONCoreFoundation10.dll -- is related to a ON1 plug-in which uses this file. I remember you mentioned in another thread having installed ON1 Effects 10.5. I would suggest you uninstall/reinstall this plug-in. It may be a good idea to make a fresh download.

I haven’t encountered this particular problem . . . I have. This seems to be a very common problem with plug-ins which use .dll files.

Sorta what I said. Yes, you had hit the nail on the head. I just added more information and narrowed it down to the culprit plug-in. (The number "10" is the clue.) In this way, BuckSkin won't have to uninstall/reinstall any other ON1 plug-in he may have. (If I remember it correctly, he also has the 9.5 version.)

Thanks, everyone ! I will have to investigate this ON1 Effects business further and make sure it is working as it should.
Sepiana's memory is dead on, as I do have PPE 9.5 and 10.5.

Just a piece of advice! When you do your investigation, there is no need to follow the first suggestion in that thread on the Adobe forums. I am afraid it does NOT apply in your case. Pressing the Shift key while launching Photoshop (or Elements) is to be used when you need to identify the third-party plug-in which is causing the problem. In your case, it is very clear which one it is -- ONCoreFoundation10.dll.

At one point in my On1 - PSE experience I had to completely remove ALL On1's products (3 at the time) including scrubbing the registry. I reinstalled only the most recent which remedied the situation.
