Some of you may already be part of this, but I thought it was a good opportunity to bring this to peoples attention. I am a member of Zooniverse, and have been for a year or so. Zooniverse is an online citizens science website. As a member you pick a project you want to participate in and away you go, helping to solve real science issues. There is everything from finding planets around stars to locating kelp forests and lots of other interesting projects. Over 1.3 million members are so far making a difference. I have just started on a new project that aims to discover the secret lives of Chimps in Africa. You don't need any special talents to participate as every project has a field guide that will teach you what you need to do and look for. So, have go and become an armchair scientist.

Simone, that looks interesting! Well done, you! I don't think I could participate with my limited English skills.

Marianne, no extensive english skills are required, the field guides are really easy to understand.

Thanks for the link Simone - it looks to be a great site. I have bookmarked it and plan to engage in one of the projects.
