Finding a location where you have a good vantage point is key. I have also been successful covering the front of the of the lens with a small black piece of black foam board between bursts. There is a house in town that has a private party and shoots them over the river. The only problem is that I never know when that's going to happen. Unfortunately, it was last night after I had put my wide-angle on to capture a rainbow. So while I got some; they needed a tight crop.
