I have Windows 10 and Photoshop Elements 7
Today, after I opened Elements 7 and chose "EDIT", the window that came up was blank, dark gray and only the left vertical tool bar had the icons for editing.
The horizontal task bar at the top is blank, and therefore I can not open files that are located on the desktop.
A New Window shows up indicating the Editor is not responding, and, Windows/Microsoft is searching for a solution to the problem.
I also uninstall Elements 7.0, downloaded and installed Elements 7.0 from Adobe website. Same problem exists.
I uninstall the Elements 7.0 and reinstalled from the original disk, installed Patch 3 as well..
The problem still exists.
Should I give up and go for the latest version of Elements, or try to solve this one first.
Thanks. ChrisCo76

Hi chrisco76, welcome to PSE&M!
I am not sure what is causing this problem. We may need more details to try to narrow down the possible "suspects". Would you please answer these questions? Your answers will help take the troubleshooting in the right direction.
1. Did you install any add-ons in Elements prior to this new development? Ex.: brushes, layer styles, actions, etc. 2. How are you launching the Editor? Via the Welcome Screen, from the Organizer, or via a direct shortcut? 3. When you uninstalled Elements, did you also remove any residual files from the Registry (either manually or by using a third-party utility)? 4. When you reinstalled Elements, did you do it as administrator and did you temporarily turn off your antivirus software? 5. Prior to this new development, did you install any Windows 10 update(s)?
