I would love to get a Drone for photography, but, this will likely remain a dream, so instead I feast online (mainly on Instagram) on the beautiful photos captured. The 4th annual International Drone Photography winners were recently announced and can be viewed on this website. My favourite has to be #1, the lavender fields of the Provence in France are something I hope to see in the next 5 years, so this really made me jealous!

I follow a photographer on FB who uses his drone on the Florida Coast....he gets some wonderful perspectives that I always enjoy seeing. These pictures take it to a whole 'nother level. I especially liked the window washers .

I was looking at those photos yesterday - they are amazing. I just bought a Phantom 3 drone last week and took it out for its maiden flight 2 days ago. I was blown away by the camera quality of the video I took. Can't wait to get good with it so that I can really do some exploring with it.

Yes, I have just got the same For some reason their website is no longer working, so I have found the photos on another site and have updated the link in my original post. Thanks Craig and Julie for letting me know that the site was no longer working!

Most of the photos took me a while to see what was happening etc so very pleased to see the explanations also there J

I do not know if this will help, I just looked at the fantastic Drone website, but the only way I could get it was to open it in another window. That worked perfectly and I am glad as the pictures were amazing!!! Thank you for posting.

Simone, drone prices have severely dropped in price over the past couple of years, at least for the DJI Phantom 3 standard which is the one I purchased. Whilst it is DJI's entry level drone, it still does 2.7k video and stills which isn't bad at all. You may want to keep an eye out and snag one when they go on sale (which seems to be frequently). Also check Amazon and E-bay. I bought a refurbished one (from DJI) on E-bay for 439 AUD. I will definitely post some pics when I get to an interesting place. The problem with flying drones these days is that there are so many restrictions imposed by CASA ( the Australian equivalent of the FAA) that one has to get out of the city. There have been instances of heavy fines imposed on people flying in no-fly zones and restricted airspace here.
