Thinking our scrappers might be able to point me in the right direction. I remember creating some backgrounds using a lorem ipsum generator that allowed you to enter your own words. I think it actually may have been part of a BC by Deena at EV. I have tried doing a google search but I can't seem to find one that allows you to enter your own words. If I remember correctly you even had the option to vary the text and layout. Any idea where to look?
Thanks, Helen

Helen, I am not sure if this is what you want. I remember we had a BC challenge in which we used an effect called Word Clouds. We used Wordle to generate the text. I believe it was BC #195.Here is what I submitted for this challenge.

I was also going to suggest Tagxedo as an alternative to Wordle. In the BC #195 that Sepiana mentioned, someone (maybe Christel?) made some amazing pictures using Tagxedo. It has great options for different shapes/fonts/colours etc. Here's an example I just made using Tagxedo: And my original for the that particular challenge was a scrapbooking LO I made: Bayla

Jackie and Bayla, thanks for the suggestion of Tagxedo! Going to check it out. When I went to get Wordle you needed to download Java which came with all kinds of warnings that I ignored . Hope that wasn't a mistake! AND in the end, after creating and downloading my text it didn't even work with my pictures.....not enough room in the background for it to show! Bayla...LOVE your sailboat page!!!! Did you design the whole thing yourself? Great job with the curving text!

Helen,
Thanks. It was a Jessica Sprague template and I did it for a Scrappers Guide challenge.
By the way, I had the same issues with Java when I went to Wordle. Must be cos I hadn't gone there since I upgraded my computer last year. I'm very wary about downloading anything at the moment as I recently got some sort of problem with my pc - my browser got taken over by something called 'oursurfing' & it was a devil of a job to remove it from the pc.

Yes, i had to download Java as well. And I couldn't save the PDF file. I had to send it to my mail first, and then I could save it..
In the Tagxedo site, I had to download silverlight which I'm not familiar with. So I leave it at that for now.

Marianne,
I had no problem with Tagxedo...seems I already have Silverlight on my computer....not sure what it does, but I've certainly never had any problems with it.

A couple of years ago there was a big scare for users of Java. This program had a very serious security issue. I remember our University sending out e-mails urging us to remove Java from our computers. I believe Java updates were later released which addressed this security issue. I don't have Java installed on my computer; I just haven't found the need for it. However, if you really want to use a program which requires Java, here is a workaround. Install Java but keep it disabled all the time. Just enable it when the need arises. There are programs which require Silverlight. Silverlight is a Microsoft plug-in. Nothing to worry about. I didn't have to install it either. It came with Windows 7 Pro. www.microsoft.com/silverlight/

Yes, we had severe problems with Java some time ago. There was no way I could get in the online bank without it. Now the banks don't require Java, so I think I will uninstall it. Bayla and Sepiana thanks for the tips about Silverlight!
