Tried to put this in "Show Your Work" but couldn't make it work right.

Good job. Hard to get both the subject and a lighted background to both be so clear

I am drawn right to her face and her expression has me wondering what she is thinking/feeling........really nice capture.

I like the idea. It might work a little better if she was framed with some open space in the direction she is facing, and if the book on the right was not in the image. My eye is distracted by the open book with the green tabs. But I realize that with images like this one, the ideal is not always a possibility, and the photo still works as it is. Certainly a difficult exposure to get everything working together like this.
Like Helen, I love her expression and the thoughts that it invokes in me. Makes one wonder is she is alone, and if so, what event brought such a pretty woman to sit alone at the bar?

Thanks for your comment Preeb. Actually I was only interested in the bottles in the lighted cabinet. She was the bartender. The man on the right reading was always there and I thought I'd be able to cut him out. I did darken the book some. I had to grab it quick as some more customers were coming to the bar. She was probably trying to clear her mind. The customer who was there before never stopped talking. She tried to appear interested but I felt like her mind was miles away. The Liberty Public House in Rhinebeck is one of my favorite. Good food. Interesting atmosphere.

Getting rid of the book would be a great challenge for me. It's so heavily incorporated in the design of the liquor cabinet.
I feel your pain - it's hard to get those shots when those pesky people insist on getting in the way. Sometimes I don't even try the shot because I can't get one without people. Now, if they were cats, I'd take the shot anyway. LOL
Berie - as I said before - it's a great shot. The way both areas are in focus amazes me.

I am TT. But my eye was drawn immediately to the drinks cabinet. Fantastic effect.
