This was shot as 2 images for a panorama, each image consisting of 3 x bracketed shots at 2 ev spacing to cope with the difference in dynamic range. Then merged to HDR and Panorama in Lightroom with a little tidying using content aware in PSE. Click image for higher resolution version.

Beautiful. I love the placement of the sun. So many of us would've centered it, but having it off to one side really makes this pano for me.

I find that the panorama stitching in PSE is at times better the Lightroom.

I do have to admit that the placement of the sun was more by the situation than by design. The sun was rising quickly and the flare would only last a few seconds, but I was restricted to where to shoot from by the pond on my right and marsh type boggy ground to my left. As it was I was in my wellies standing in about 6 inches of muddy ground !!

I find that the panorama stitching in PSE is at times better the Lightroom. I have found that also. I do alternate between the two if one or other yields better results.

Thanks Helen. I would be only too pleased for you to be able to come along. A little matter of about 5000 miles difference could be a problem though !!! I don't use any specialist Pano heads. I find as long as the tripod is level as well as the camera, that usually works ok. If the camera is level on the tripod head, but the actual tripod itself is not, that can cause stitching issues. I have an 'L' bracket for portrait orientation panos as this ensures that the rotation is aligned with the lens axis, which is advisable for the stitching process to work correctly. And as for software I have only ever used either PSE or LR. That's a fairly comprehensive article though.
