I use PSE11 and I've accidentally (my wife calls it my trigger finger) turned two Categories into Sub-Categories in my Tags list. How can I restore these two to Category status?
Thanks in advance.

In the tags panel, right click on the sub-category and choose 'Edit' from the drop-down menu. In the new dialog, select the drop-down menu on the bottom (Edit Sub-category) Choose the first option, 'None, convert to category'. Warning: you may have to use the vertical scrollbar on the right to see the first option.

How about making a new Category - give it a different name from the changed one - it can be edited later. Go to the sub-category, highlight all the photos in the sub-category and add them to the new Category. Keep them highlighted (or highlight again) and hover over a photo, right click and then click on the wrong sub-category name to remove them from it. Then delete the wrong sub-category and rename the new Category with the required name.

Thanks Michelb but that's not what comes up when I right-click on sub-category. I get this: photo hosting sitesYou have to click on the 'Category' line, on the small triangle on the right of the line to display the second dialog I did mention. And yes, The workaround given by ChrisAnn works in all versions. I think that in one recent version, the second menu did appear but did not work...
