My great grand daughter found him on the ground. We put him back in a nest of the same age. I suspect a teenager(2nd year Purple Martin) took him from his nest. They do that in hopes of getting the adults to abandon the nest and then they take over,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,that's Nature,I'd guess this one is about 10 days old. dick

That is one of the down sides to hosting a colony there willl be those that don't make it. I noticed when returning that baby to it's nest that I had a few mites on some of the housing. I'll have to lower that rack today and treat all of the nest cavities with Sevin Dust. I'll have to treat all of my housing on my ither racks as they usually spread quickly.
