If the history of past releases is any indication, we should see Photoshop Elements 16 released within the next 30 days. I will wait to see what new features and functionality it provides before I make a decision if I will upgrade from PSE 15. A couple of things I would like to see would be the addition of a curves adjustment layer and a lighting effects filter.
What would be on your wish list for PSE 16?

It will be quite a surprise if Adobe brings back the Lighting Effects filter. I believe it was removed from Elements back in version 12 due to the new support for 64-bit systems. But, then, we never know what their Design Team will come up with.
We have asked Adobe to give Elements 16 the following . . . - The ability to apply filters as Smart Filters. - The Select and Mask feature now available in Photoshop CC (to replace Refine Edge). - The ability to load Custom Shapes (instead of having to install them).

I would like PSE 16 to have the ability to separate the RGB channels into the 3 separate channels (i.e., red, green, and blue) and then be able to edit and save each channel individually.

I would like PSE 16 to have the ability to separate the RGB channels into the 3 separate channels (i.e., red, green, and blue) and then be able to edit and save each channel individually. That is explained in the old book by Richard Lynch "The hidden power of Photoshop Elements 4" (page 60...) He replaces channels with layers and blend modes and provides actions to create the layer setup. You can use Elements+ (by Andrei Doubrovski) to separate channels into different files for each channel. You can add all your layers to create a similar setup as Richard Lynch. (script, color and tone, separate channels) - The principle is to set each channel_layer in screen mode with a clipped solid fill color (multiply mode) over a black background. The result is identical to the original background. Maybe Andrei Doubrovski has a better solution to use his separation to ceate a similar setup...

Thanks Michel for your reply. I've downloaded Elements+ and will play with it. I will also check out Richard Lynch's method. Thanks again.
