I have been making a picture up in Elements 11. (To use as a notecard).
It has got eleven layers including one at 6th place, which is a photograph of a dog.
I shall be wanting to change that photo several times.
I know I can put another in it's place.
My problem is this.
Can I print the card off, without flattening the layers - and keeping it on the computer as a PSD file? I don't want to have to start from scratch with the whole thing every time I just want to put a different photo on.
Hope this makes sense.

There is absolutely no need to flatten the layers - the PSD file will print just fine.

There is absolutely no need to flatten the layers - the PSD file will print just fine. Exactly; the Print function is WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get). When you ask for a printout, what you see on the screen is what will be printed. Also, if you wish, you can add all your different images into the one PSD file, each on a different layer. Just turn off the visibility of all of them but the one you want for the next printout.

Brilliant. Thanks so much all of you. Also - now I know what WYSIWYG means.
