Whippet enlightened me to the fact that On1 10.5 Effects was FREE for a limited time.

I already had the watered-down sample version installed; but, as best I can tell, this current FREE deal is the whole package.
I have had full-version Perfect Effects 9.5 for quite some time and it performs flawlessly now that I got my video card situation fixed (I will never buy another EVGA/Nvidia card again EVER).
However, the sample version 10.5 has always had several glitches.
ALWAYS, when I would open Effects 10.5, I would immediately get a box telling me that the program had shut down unexpectedly and would I send a crash report; I finally figured out that by just clicking the red X on the box that when the box disappeared Effects would then open right up.
Once I would get it up and running, add whatever effects/filters I desired, and then click Save/Close, EVERY TIME it would take a while about closing and then the Windows warning would appear saying the program had quit responding and close the program; sometimes, it would manage to get the image saved, sometimes it would not.
Now, today, I used GEEK uninstaller and uninstalled the problem sample version; after uninstalling, I shut-down, waited a bit, and restarted the machine, hoping this would purge all remnants of the old installation.
I then installed my new download, after which I shut-down and restarted again.
I launched the newly installed program and --- the very first thing --- there was that hateful "submit a crash report" box ------ just exactly like always happened with the sample version.
I Xed away the box and the program immediately went ahead and launched.
Mysteriously, instead of the file browser starting raw-dog from the beginning, the last folder I had been working from was already loaded and the sort order reversed --- just like I had left it in the uninstalled version.
Even more mysteriously, there were all of my favorites and custom presets from the old program.
I had just went to special pains to purge that old program in it's entirety and here was evidence that it obviously wasn't all gone.
Then, just as I was afraid of, when I Saved/Closed my work, there was that "The program has quit responding/close the program" warning.
Although this new installation, as best I can tell, is the whole un-cut program, rather than the limited sample program that it replaced, it still is exhibiting all the annoying problems that I had before.
Thankfully, the new doesn't overwrite the old and my Version 9.5 is still working like clockwork.
I have not had any responses from any of the messages and crash reports I have sent, so I guess I am on my own to figure this out.
Are my experiences typical for the program, or is it just me that is having these problems ?
Thanks for reading.
