Yes, right across my little backyard, literally thousands upon thousands of dragonflie's. They would actually run into you if you were moving around and disrupting their flow. They were from 4 or 5 feet above ground level to as high as I could see the Purple Martin's who were going absolutely crazy in a feeding frenzy. It took about 15-20 minutes for them to pass me by. They were in a southerly movement and I assume heading to the coastal areas. I wish I knew how big a swarm that it was,,,across I'm talking about. It seemed to be pretty concentrated.
I have seen other migrations over the year's but nothing like this, you could knock them out of the air with your hand if you were quick.

We saw this last year - right outside our screened lanai. We did not attempt to go outside because we thought they would all fly away and we wanted them to eat every last one of the blind mosquitoes that must've just hatched from our retention pond. In five years, that was the only year we noticed it, but I'm sure it's repeated every year. What an amazing sight.

No, no pic's. It is fledging time and I have my hands full with 175 babies needing monitoring for trouble. I did have a nest of 6 going airborne at the time and 3 needed to be launched manually by me before the cats/dogs got them.
