I just looked up and found that the holiday season is quite close - yikes! (Actually, it was Helen's post that tipped me off; thanks Helen!) Time to think about those cards for family and friends! Here is a tutorial for creating a photo christmas tree ornament. You will also find an image there of a hanger for using with your ornament creations; scroll down to where it says Watch the Video and you will see it on the right. You will find the short (3 1/2 minutes) video tutorial here: Christmas Ornamentand for those of you that like it written out try this tutorial: Christmas BaublesHere is what I came up with; I look forward to seeing what you do with this fun technique!

I clipped a digital scrapook paper to ornament. I 'sphered' it 2 times at 100%, used lens flare I clipped a tan color layer to hanger and used blend modes because I didn't want silver yet wanted to keep metal look of original hanger To do this, you need to keep hanger and ornament on their own layers

My attempt - I used the Wow Plastic style. Frank, he is SO cute! Adorable!
Beautiful "attempt"! I always find it hard to apply a plastic layer style. You nailed it. It is not overdone at all.

Thanks, Lilias - it's that very cool scrapbook paper that makes this work.

Beautiful effect cats4jan ! Very 3-dimensional. Thanks for sharing the techniques you used. Thanks for sharing Daniel's first Christmas fotofrank . That is exactly what I had in mind for this effect, a way of presenting memories in an interesting, seasonal way. With the several excellent scrappers here I am hoping to see it used in more elaborate presentations; ribbons, garlands, etc. so we can see what can be done. If you do, please share your source of embellishments!
