Frank, this is so original! I really like it. The use of Topaz Impression added an extra dimension to your image.
Do you mind sharing how you created the background? It is so unique!

I Created this and defined it as a pattern. I then filled a layer with this pattern, duplicated it. Changed the color on one of them. Applied a Checker board mask and styles.
