Hi all. Normally I like to take my time in explaining why I chose each image for the IOW, but I'm afraid being Christmas Eve I've not got a lot of time to do this today (too much preparation to do, and more importantly mince pies to eat and mulled wine to drink!). And if I don't do it today I won't be able to for a few days. So this week I'm going with instinct and impact.

I love an image that makes you look twice, because first time you just don't quite 'get it'. And this did just that for me; I find it surreal yet clearly real (if that makes any sense).
Deany: Days gone by

Simple, elegant, classy, beautifully executed. Should be hanging on a wall somewhere.

You ask whether we prefer this to Silent Night. Well, I loved Silent Night, but this is a new level - beautifully subtle tones.

A wonderful demonstration of artistic vision and technical ability; astonishingly clever how the wing motif is replicated throughout the background. Gorgeous.
So thank you all for such a great selection to choose from this week, it was the usual really high quality.
And I'm looking forward to see what you all come up with in 2018 as you are all such an inspiration to me, so thanks for helping me develop my own skills over the years.
