I have PSE 15 installed on my Win 10 computer. For Christmas, I got a new computer (Win 10) and PSE 2018. I've already copied my 64,000 photos over to the new machine. Is there a suggested way or preference to install pse 2018 on my new computer that will keep all my info from my pse 15? Or should I just start fresh with a clean install? Issues? Suggestions? Thanks, Roger

I'm no expert but in the past have converted my old organiser to the new one giving it a different name (I put the edition number at the end). This keeps all my albums, faces, etc connected. When I had a new computer I seem to remember backing up the organiser on the old computer and then restoring it on to my new computer ensuring that it is sitting on the same named drive eg C: so that all the links remained the same.
As I said, I'm not an expert but noticed that you haven't had a response for 19 hours - which is unusual for here but must be due to the festive season. May I suggest you don't do anything until a proper expert gets here to explain properly the process involved. All I know is that I've managed it without any problems.

To not confuse the PSE Catalog, you want to do a backup of the catalog on your old computer. Then move that to the new computer and do a restore using PSE 2018. That will preserve all information from your old catalog, without causing issues with missing images (thumbnails not pointing to the actual image location).

Thanks guys for the replies. My files are on a different drive letter and a diiferent folder structure, so i think I'll just try a clean install and see how it goes. Thanks much..
