I tried combing 2 pictures, one of a castle my husband created and one I took of the Maine coast. I don't know how to put all three pics in this post so I'll try to add them in separate posts. Sorry. Bernie u.cubeupload.com/Berengaria/Castle2bcopy.jpg

That is a very neat idea; a picture of a diorama and a picture of a real place combined. Your husband did a very good job with the castle. I don't know how it managed to happen, but your first/top picture is showing not square to the page; one side is about an eighth-inch higher than the other. I really like what you did.

I love the created castle by your husband, and then I saw what you did with it and was very impressed with the end results!

Yikes - that is so very well done! I for one would sure appreciate some info on how you pulled it off. How were the colors and rock textures blended to make it so believable?
Now this sort of work is what the Show Your Work board is intended for!

Take notice of the fog rising from the water and shrouding the timber. And the castle fits that little area as though it were purpose-built to go there. I showed it to my wife and she was impressed as well.

Thank you all for you nice compliments. It made me so happy to read them.
Unfortunately I can't tell you what I did. It evolved over many days, many restarts, and many sessions. I just kept trying different things over and over. I believe the mist and clouds came from a cloud layer I worked in. I remember using Lenabam 239 texture and a raw linen texture (twice). Just having fun playing around. You know how it is.
Thanks again.
Berie
