This morning around 10am it was quite misty where I live but I was thrilled when I looked over the fence at the bottom of my garden to see these beautiful creatures. There were 4 of them - one is lying down in the long grass. I ran and got my point and shoot camera and got as close as I could without scaring them and grabbed a few photos of which this is the best. I used the dehaze facility on it and then a slight levels adjustment.

What a nice surprise.....glad they waited for your picture. Because of increased development, more and more deer are seen on neighborhood properties here. Is that what you are finding in the UK?

Yes that seems to be the case here to Helen. It is a similar case with foxes. They can be seen oftener in back gardens and housing estates now much to the consternation of some of the folks who live there.

There were 4 of them - one is lying down in the long grass Nice capture, especially to get one lying down. What type of deer are they ? The Whitetail deer around here have such a highly tuned flight gear that it is rare indeed to get a shot of them just going about there business. As to "urban" deer, my father's (deceased) tire-shop was uniquely located (in town) along a narrow ridge that separated two major watersheds for our state. Due to the roughness of the terrain, there were woods and brushy overgrown thickets, one that came almost to the rear of the building, and another right across the very busy highway in front. One very busy day, a deer, in a very panicky state, blasted in one of the open shop bay doors, through the middle of workers and various tools, and sailed out the rear door, a distance of a hundred feet or so, leaving a path of destruction and confusion, and astonished workers and customers, behind.

Thank you Buckskin. I'm sorry to say that I've no idea what type of deer they are. I was just very lucky to be able to grab that shot as they don't usually hang around if they see or hear something. Love your story about the deer blasting through the middle of the shop. I just bet the customers and workers were astonished, I know I sure would have been.
