Hi, I am a new Elements user, and I'm having a problem. I have Elements 2018, version 16 on a Surface Pro 4 with Windows 10 Pro. when I try to save a file, I get the message "C:\users\......(file name) File not found. check the file name and try again." I've tried Save, Save As, and tried to save as a .PSD. .JPG, .Tiff, etc.... I've tried to save as the original file name, and changed the name. I'm getting stumped every which way. Any ideas? thanks.

Hi David, welcome to PSE&M! Glad to have you here.
This problem is usually related to permission levels. You may want to try the suggestions in this thread on the Adobe forums. The suggestions are for Photoshop CC but they also apply to PSE.
File not found. Check the file name and try again Error when saving
Hope this helps! Let us know how it goes.

Basic file saving error - one I learned the hard way -- Don't put periods in your file name. (such as St.Croix)
I'm sure because you are having the same problem all the time, it's not that - but I'm throwing this in because it's 'bit' me a few times.

Sepiana, many thanks for the guidance. I tried the suggestion on the Adobe forum related to "Controlled Folder Access" and it worked. I added the folders where my pictures are located, and I can now save as needed. Excellent advice! I appreciate the help.
