When I try to apply changes from any of the filters from the NIK collection except Sharpening or Define a dialog box appears saying a problem with PSE has caused the program to shut down. It seems to make no difference what has been done or not done to the image before opening it in NIK. No problem with either sharpening or noise reduction. Don't remember changing anything in PSE or on the computer. I don't know if its related to this problem or not, but I also found that I am unable to open any action. The cursor turns to a circle with a line thru it. Thanks for any insight or help. This is a great forum.

Hi Hillbilly,
As to the problem with the NIK Collection -- I would suggest you uninstall it and reinstall it using a fresh download.
nikcollection.dxo.com/
As to the actions -- I don't see how a problem with the Nik Collection (.8bf/.plugin) could cause the problem you are having with actions (.atn). I am going to take a shot in the dark here, a very long one.
Is this an action set? Containing one or many actions? If so, when you move your cursor over the Play button, the cursor will turn into a circle with a diagonal line across it. Try first selecting an action and, then, clicking on the Play button. If you cannot see the actions within the set, click on the little triangle to the left of the folder. This will bring up the actions within the set.

Sepiana, I am very embarrassed. The little triangle did it. I knew about that and had brain fade, or, as my granddaughters say "senior moment". As to the NIK collection, I have spent most of the afternoon trying to download the collection with no success. It may be computer problems. When I get it downloaded I will post back, problem solved or not. Many thanks.

Hillbilly, first of all, nothing to be embarrassed about. The important thing is . . . no more problems. Now you can get back into the action!
As to the NIK Collection, . . .
I am assuming you got an e-mail from them with the link to download it. How are you going about it? Are you saving the file to your computer and, then, running it, or are you trying to run it from their site?

Well, so far I haven't gotten anything. I have tried a couple of different approaches, but wind up on the same page. Clock "download" but nothing happens. I have submitted my e mail address for notifications on their page with no result. Bet I am doing something wrong. Going to see if my comuter/smart phone savvy granddaughter will come over. Again, thank you. When I get this new download will post back with results.

There should be no delay receiving an e-mail from DxO with the link for you to download the NIK Collection installer. Once you enter your e-mail address in the box and click on the Submit button, you should hear from them shortly afterwards. Did you check your "Junk" box? Maybe it is there.

I got the NIK collection downloaded thru another site. Unfortunately I am still unable to use any of the filters except sharpening and define. A dialog box comes up:"Photoshop Elements 14 Editor has stopped working.Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available" No notification appears. Maybe I need to uninstall and reinstall Photoshop elements. I have the disc somewhere. No email in the Junk folder. Hillbilly.

I believe we can mark this one solved. The Adobe document tells how to update the GPU driver. If that doesn't work (my computer won't support the update) it tells how to force the filters to open in safe mode. Followed directions and can now use NIK filters. Looks like its time for me a new computer. Thank you very much. Your efforts to solve my and all these other folks problems are highly appreciated.
