Thanks Andy for judging last week's IOW, great images that were highlighted that week!
It seems it was a quiet week for gallery submissions, on the plus side, it made choosing a little easier.
The first honourable mention goes to dandc for his image "California Springtime" - What drew me to this photo is the soft tones that have been achieved, you really get the feeling of the fragility of the spring flowers. Additionally, the bokeh and composition are superb; a great example of the rule of thirds!
The second honourable mention goes to dennis9 for "Spring" - Sometimes the composition rules need to be broken, and I think the subject worked really well for this. I particularly like the fact that the little drops of rain have been captured to great effect and make it evident that spring showers have just occurred. All these lovely spring flowers make me longing for Spring here, alas, it is another 10cm of wet heavy snow for us in Alberta! So thank you for giving me a virtual Spring!
And finally, the Image of the Week goes to fotofrank for his image "Big Ben Sunset" - The sky and the rays of the setting sun really bring some drama to Big Ben (or Elizabeth Tower, as it is offically called). I love London, and Big Ben is such an iconic landmark that it can be hard to photograph and showcase it in an original way, but Frank managed it by ensuring he had the corner of the tower in the center of his shot, thereby giving us a great view of two of Big Ben's sides.
Thank you to everyone who submitted their photos to their galleries this week; without your contributions we would not be able to run the IOW!
