I'm sorry to say, that you will all just have to wait until my next turn - Creative Effects Challenge on June 16.
Frank, it looks like there was no need for this request.
Frank, I myself find this effect (day to night) to be difficult to achieve. You nailed it! I am going to put you on the spot. HINT: A tutorial. PLEASE! We were already on the same wavelength. Great minds think alike!

Bailey, I noticed the red and white pole which I had removed from my picture after I posted but left it here as it is quite a coincidence! No problem but maybe my brain is not working properly today because I'm not sure what you mean by ".... but left it here as it is quite a coincidence!". Where is "here"? Anyway, if you or someone else knows the name of the building the lanterns are on or the name of the lane and googles it, you will probably fins many similar images.

One of the steps when I created my entry for this challenge was . . .
- Applied a Color Lookup adjustment layer; used a LUT created by Frank (Multiply blending mode, 75% Opacity).
If you are interested in adding this to your photo-editing workflow and you don't have Photoshop, you can do it in Elements 13 and above (courtesy of Andrei Doubrovski and Frank). Just check this thread.

I'm not sure what you mean by ".... but left it here as it is quite a coincidence!". Where is "here"? I can see where that would be a confusing sentence. By "here" I meant in this post on PSE&M. I was quite surprised to see the picture we were working on for this challenge featured on one of the google tuts you linked to.

Thank you PeteB. I have looked through the search results in your link. It's very interesting

Looking through PeterB's link above, I can see the image in the tute appears on many other web sites.
If you are concerned about someone possibly taking your images and using them elsewhere on the www, I'm afraid there is no way to protect posted images 100%. The bottom line is if you don't want anyone to steal an image, then simply don't publish it on the www.

I share pictures on FB and occasionally on Flickr, as well as having a gallery here. For me photography is a fun hobby and I'm not concerned about anyone stealing my pictures.

ok, that's good to hear Unfortunately many people either don't realise or forget how easy and unstoppable the downloading of online photos is. What I really find mind blowing and really gets my head shaking in dismay is when people publish photos online and either forget, or most probably don't realise, ( and I'm not saying you don't) that the GPS coordinates of where the photo was taken is in the exif data of the files. Many smartphones nowadays can record the GPS location of where a photo was taken. I recall a few years ago now a high profile "celebrity" posted some selfies and other photos of outside one of their homes around world and then wondered why over the next few days there were so many people coming to have a look at where they lived. They soon worked out how the "visitors" found out where they lived. But I digress now, sorry

Bailey .....your new avatar has thrown me off.... Ooops!! sorry. I hope I didn't scare you too much But yes..... ** Me ** I can see the resemblance I thought I had subjected visitors to enough visual trauma after 330 posts with my original mug shot. So I tried to create an identikit of myself using the avatar creator in my profile, but alas there weren't enough choices to create a very close likeness . I'm not sure now which is worse, my mug shot or this "identikit"

Fauxtoto, great job blending these two images. Can only imagine what it was like to be there! Thanks for the link to the fascinating video.

Fauxtoto, I quite agree with Helen! This is blending at its best. Was in Ottawa in July 2017, as part of the celebrations for Canada's 150th anniversary. La Machine. Fauxtoto, this is blending at its best. Excellent!
I am curious. Did you use a manual Luminosity mask to blend the two images?

if anyone is interested in how I created the night scene image I posted earlier, I have given a summary in my Changing Day Scene to Night Scene thread.
