I have just received this information from Mediachance; I thought our Mac users would like to hear about it.

DAP 5 - MAC version.
The virtualization advanced quite a lot since the last time we tried it so we gave it a shot and created a fully self contained version of DAP that runs on MAC OSX. And actually it works pretty neat!
We also modified all open and save dialogs so they default directly to the User folder on your MAC. The DAP 5 MAC was tested on OSX High Sierra on at least 3 different configurations and all looked and worked good without any glitches. So give it a shot!

NOTE: Heed the advice on their website!

Please test the Mac version on your computer before purchase

As a side note, I have used DAP for many years. Here is my feedback on it.

For anyone else trialing this application I looked on youtube and found this video which seems very helpful.

It might be a good idea if members who have this or are trying it out post some before and after images.

I hope to add one tomorrow.

Speaking for myself, . . . yes, it can be a steep learning curve. They have a very detailed Manual (PDF) though. I find it very helpful.

Just coming back here to add that . . . DAP was highly recommended by Barbara Brundage (back on the now-closed EV forum). That was enough endorsement for me.

This is what she says on her blog. (An old post though, when DAP was for Windows only.)

For those who prefer to let the computer do the work, by far the best solution I’ve found is Dynamic Auto Painter from MediaChance . . .

Sepiana.....certainly was a great recommendation from Barbara Brundage. If I were to purchase the program, I am sure I would find the manual you linked to helpful, so thank you for that as well.

I have just received this notice from Mediachance:

We got few reports that on some Highs Sierra machines and certain video cards the application will not start. We rebuild and uploaded new installation that hopefully fix this issue. (it did with the few people who contacted us with this)

If you tried DAP for MAC before and it didn't work, go to www.mediachance.com/dap/index.html and download the new MAC dmg file (it will be called DAP 5.2.1c.dmg)

If you currently have the old DAP 5.2 in the Application folder - move it to trash so there isn't a confusion between versions and then just add the new 5.2.1c version.

This all apply only for DAP on MAC. On Windows there is no need to download anything new.

I have the latest version but did have an issue with a black screen when I used the layers function. I'll have to try it again in the next few days to see if it was a fluke or something they need to be made aware of. I was able to back out of it though.
