It will let me type my message right after the word Bayla (and above her photo) but when I did a test run of my msg. and clicked "Create post" it didn't turn out right. Should I have just hit "enter" instead of create post? I then couldn't find any way to delete my test post, so there it sits. Is there no way we can delete our post, once it has been entered? Jim - At the upper right hand corner of the message box there is a gear icon. Click on it and you will see that one of the options is to delete your message. That worked. Thanks Major. I still don't understand this forum's "quote" system though. I clicked "quote" on your response to me but as you see, this response to you that I'm typing right now just shows up like it's the next line of your message to me. What am I not doing correctly here?

Bayla, As you can see, after I clicked "quote" on your post, the only "quote" that showed up in my reply was the quote of MY original post to you. It does show my reply, but my words just appear as an extension of your post, so I don't get it. I'm finding this test forum's system very awkward to navigate. Does this help?

Jim, I think we are all experiencing some growing pains here. Like anything new it is going to take some getting used to. However, when once we start using the forum on a regular basis I think (hope) things will become clearer. For instance, I just followed (or so I thought) Bayla's directions for adding a photo to a post via flickr. I obviously did something wrong as my picture comes in as a link rather than a thumbnail. Can anyone suggest what I did wrong? I copied the url and pasted it straight into my post. Was I supposed to ouse the link symbol?

You have to click the BBCode instead of the link to get the code you need.

You have to click the BBCode instead of the link to get the code you need. I also delete bits of the url once I've pasted it into my post so I'm just left with a clickable thumbnail and nothing else.

Bayla... Which parts of the Flickr url to you delete to get a photo thumbnail to show here? Basically all the bits from the title (if it has one) to the end. I toggle back & forth between Preview & BBCode until I get it right. With a bit of practice you get to know which bits to delete. Then I'm just left with a clickable thumbnail: Bayla

Marianne and Bayla, thanks for your help. I think I've finally gotten it. So I guess I will try to use my flickr gallery more...as that should be a nice way to to add images to a gallery here.

Very pleasing, Marianne. Nice back/side lighting.
P.S. How did you get your "private" Flick photo transferred into your post here? I thought this forum would only allow us to post Flickr photos that we have marked "public" there? At least I thought I had read that somewhere in one of the threads here.
