Hey there PE&M gang! This week we only had six images submitted (all great images!), and I have selected one as the image of the week: Watercolor Iris by Blackmutt - love the colors in this image and the watercolor effect! The Iris is such a beautiful flower isn't it?

Thanks for judging, Pat. I know your preference for an "arty" look so understand why this one caught your eye. Congratulations, Judy.....beautiful watercolor and like the hint of texture.

Very nice IOW but..........(I have to say something here in the hope no-one takes offence) [offtopic] Out of curiosity I had a look at the other 5 images for this week (3 of which were posted by another member) and to be honest am, with respect to this week's IOW judge, a little surprised that with 3 out of 6 images from one member, at least one of them could not be highlighted at least as a place getter, especially when each image had 8-10 likes . I can't help but notice that in the previous single judge IOW week there were only 4 images from 2 members submitted. In that week the IOW judge generously highlighted all 4 images. Ok, I've had my little rant and glad to have got it off my chest, so I will now. (I wanted to have this "rant" in the "Do we need to overhaul the IOW feature" thread but it has been locked.) Bailey, I appreciate your respectfully stated opinion. Additionally, I have great respect for the members who have signed on to be an IOW judge. On occasion, but very rarely, a member will create a post that suggests a different idea or position than that week's judge.
Being there are no set "rules" that a judge must follow in making their selections, it is totally up to the judge as to how they want to create their post and what images they would like to recognize. I support all of our judges and appreciate their commitment to our forum.

Great selection of the IOW, srmoment, and a gorgeous image by Blackmutt, beautifully processed, I really wish I had both the skill and the vision to do such work. Which I why I love this forum as it's members create such diverse and quality images.

Alexr - thank you. You can do this. I did it with Elements 11 and just followed the tutorial I noted. Really quite simple. Try it, please. You have a talent - I have seen your photos.

Just a note to say that I did look at all six photos and I liked them all. I had to wrestle with whether to choose one IOW, and show all the other photos as honorable mentions, so I went out on a limb and chose one image only.
so.....'after-the-fact', I do want to mention the others: 'Yum' by Blackmutt, who was on a roll last week! The next three were by Alex R: 'Grey-Headed Flying Foxes' (really unusual - I've never seen anything like these); 'Sacred Heart Cathedral, Bendigo, Australia' (lovely lighting and subject); and 'Melbourne across the Yarra River' (what a lovely night photo) [....and Alex, as Blackmutt said, you do have many excellent images to work with so I think you should give processing a try...] "Havana Cuba" by Simone. [this is an intriguing image - love that pink car]. We are really looking forward to seeing more of your Cuba images!
