In this post michelb referred to an Acronis backup.
Out of curiosity I googled the Acronis website and downloaded the 30 day free trial last night. I am very impressed with it so far.
I started my disk backup at about 10pm last night and chose to have the backup validated after completion. The backup itself (~800GB to an external HDD via usb connection) finished just after 4am this morning (I didn't wait up to wait for it to finish though
). The validation took about another 6 hours and finished about 10am this morning.I'll keep playing with it during the trial period and then assess whether to purchase it or not.
So if you are looking for a disk backup application, Acronis is definitely worth at least considering imo
