(Too lazy to write it all out.)
"I've turned my own name back to front And called you DOG my friend."
Fact . . . if you are interested. The only dog named by breed in the Bible, is the Greyhound.

I love the Creation verse whippet and the scene you have created. You have also educated me as I did not realise that the greyhound had been mentioned in the bible.

Thank you both very much. That is one of my favourite poems Sydney. The author is unknown. (Anon). Did you notice I put a koala on for you. I have been involved with greyhounds for quite a few years, but only recently learned that fact, BJ. The only breed of dog mentioned by name in the Bible is the greyhound (Proverbs 30:29-31, King James Version):
There be three things which do well, yea, Which are comely in going; A lion, which is strongest among beasts and Turneth not away from any; A greyhound; A he-goat also.

Another popular translation is "strutting rooster" and "strutting cock" (New American Standard 1977 version). In my Catholic edition RSV, I see -

The only breed of dog mentioned by name in the Bible is the greyhound The emphasis was on 'breed of dog', bailey. And, if anyone is interested - the cat is not mentioned at all. (According to my Google sources).
