I got the idea for this from a photo I saw on Pixabay and this is my version of it.

What a nice idea! The background paper is perfect for a painting and I like the way your brush points to the art work. Also like the speckling edge of your mask.

Thank you Helen. I looked at this again and realised that the texture of the paper didn't show through on the 'painting' so I've gone back in and put a blend mode on the mask. I then duplicated the photo gave it the multiply blend mode at 65% opacity and this is the result.  |
