I received a link to Converting Catalogs From PE5 or Earlier to PE14 or Later in another post. I downloaded PE13 as instructed in step 1. After downloading, a message appeared stating that a Windows restart was pending (don't remember the exact wording) and recommended the restart be done. After restarting, Windows did not open (black screen). I had to go through the Windows Restart Repair utility to get Windows to open again. I still have the downloaded Adobe Photoshop folder on my desktop, but I'm not quite sure what, if anything, I should do with it. Should I try to use it as-is or try downloading it over again?? Everything feels a little scary after what happened the first time. Suggestions??

dano,
Is the download being shown as "completed"? If so, try installing PSE. Just make sure you do it with administrative rights. Also, turn off your antivirus software (just for the duration of the installation process).

In looking closer at the folder that was left on my desktop, it looks like it was not completed. There is no Setup file in the folder, and the Program is not shown in the program list. The Windows Restart Repair utility may have used a Restore Point, which may have erased it also. Do I dare trying to reload it again ??

If you are missing some files, then, you need to make a fresh download. Make sure you delete those files from your computer before proceeding with another download.

No. The message did not appear again. I may have left Norton on during the first download. Thanks.
