BEFORE:
For about an hour, I stood in the doorway of my shop while sheets of blowing rain came pelting down, trying to capture some of the countless streaks and bolts of lightning. It is not quite so easy as one would assume; lightning is QUICK. Out of more than a hundred discards, I managed to get the streak I used here and one very vivid bolt that vibrated the earth when it hit.

The shop has metal roof and metal siding, so it should be well grounded.
There are plenty of big tall trees everywhere as well, so lightning has plenty of optional targets.
