ATTENTION!!!
There is no longer a "next Sunday" posting deadline. You can grab your camera, take your photo, and post it in this thread any time you wish to.
Hi everyone,
Would you like to participate in the Weekly Photo Challenge? Just take a photo that is your interpretation of the theme and post it in this thread.
- Your photo(s) should be your own, i.e., they should not have been taken by someone else. - Photoshopping is allowed but should be kept to the basics only rather than a total transformation. - Grab your camera, experiment, and, most of all, have fun.

Love these old churches and graveyards. There's an "abbey" near where my mother and gran lived that dates to 1110 AD or so. I took some slides in 1974. Thanks for the photo whippet. Clive

Can't compete with those really old churches in whippet land but this is the oldest in this area which was built in 1856. Interestingly it was started by a lieutenant in the Royal Navy who came over from Scotland to start a commune. The commune didn't last long but the church they built is still going strong. I did have to photoshop out the electrical cables which are strung right across the front of the church and of course because I know they were there I can still see the remnants but content aware did do a pretty good job. Another St. Mary's Church, this one in Beddington Park. It was built in the fifteenth Century by the Carew family, who were lords of the manor at that time. Rumour has it that the body of Sir Walter Raleigh was buried in the Carew family vault after his execution in 1618. The vault is sealed, so the truth of this story will never be proved.

Really nice presentation of a church I grew up close by - hasn’t aged a bit unlike some of us! tony

A church from yesterday's walk in Norfolk, breaking off from The Peddars Way as we head north to the sea.

Peterj , what a finding! A well-known church, dating back to the colonial times. I really like the way you captured the details of its Gothic design.

whippet , really nice! I like the tonal range and how you included the tombstones in your composition.

Tony Tony, this is a beautiful shot -- sharp, well-composed. The details are amazing!
